Mortice Sashlocks:

Mortice sashlocks are available in a large variety of shapes and sizes. These locks are specificly designed to be used in conjunction with handles with a key hole in them. Sashlocks are available with 2, 3, 5 and 7 levers and in 2.5'' and 3'' lock case sizes. We recomend that a 5 lever BS 3621: 2004 mortice lock should be fitted to external doors and main exit doors on a domestic or commercial building in order to comply with your insurance policy.

How do you recognise a British Standard Mortice Lock? - Answer: The front of the lock (the faceplate) should have the BS kite mark stamped on it, and when you turn the key and the bolt is thrown into the locking position, the bolt itself should measure 20mm in length.

When simple security is needed then choosing a 2 or 3 lever lock gives a great cost effective solution for internal doors.
